Most of Petra Unger's vineyards are located around Furth bei Göttweig, on a high plateau at the foot of the Göttweiger Berg, where the vines thrive on deep loess, partly interspersed with mighty tertiary gravel conglomerates. Here, the Grüner Veltliner finds ideal conditions to develop its typical fruity aromas and peppery, spicy taste. The wines are round and smooth, always accompanied by elegance and finesse.

The somewhat stronger, warmer Pannonian climate here - in comparison to the Wachau - also produces elegant, fruity and smooth red wines from the Zweigelt and Pinot Noir varieties.

As a member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter, which launched a vineyard classification system in 2010, the Oberfeld, Gottschelle and Steiner Gaisberg vineyards have been awarded the "1ÖTW Erste Lage" rating. She is also a member of the "11 Women and their Wines" association.

Having grown up in Krems an der Donau, the dedicated winemaker graduated from the local college for tourism and tourism and, after studying agriculture at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, a practical stay in the Napa Valley in California and various wine study trips, took over her parents' winery in 1999. In summer 2010, she began a cooperation with the Josef Edlinger winery in Furth-Palt.
