In Wagram ob der Traisen, near the town of Traismauer, Herwald and Raphaela Hauleitner cultivate their vineyards with dedication and a clear philosophy: to produce wines that reflect their origin, varietal character, and the distinct signature of the winemaker. Founded in 1932, this family-run winery operates under the guiding principle: “Drinking is a need, enjoying is an art.”

Focused on the Essentials
The Hauleitners craft pure, fruit-driven wines with finesse and texture – vinified with precision and intuition. Their wines express the unique terroir of the Traisental region, shaped by three distinct soil types: fine-grained loess, chalky conglomerate, and heavier clay-loam soils on Oncophora (limestone with shell fossils). These diverse soils lend the wines structure, minerality, and depth.

Clarity, Authenticity, and a Sense of Place
The focus is on the region’s flagship varieties: Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, produced under the Traisental DAC and DAC Reserve classifications. The range is complemented by aromatic grapes like Gelber Muskateller, especially from the renowned Ried Bergen vineyard. Each wine reflects a commitment to honest craftsmanship: varietally expressive, mineral-driven, and elegant – with personality and without pretense.
