The Hainburg Golf Club was founded in 1977 and built on the site of a former bird park. The first 9 holes were played in 1979. The golf club is run as an association and the board decides on business matters.

In 1993, the second nine holes were opened, which are laid out in terraces below the Braunsberg. Some well-known Austrian VIP golfers such as Markus Brier (Hainburg's first club champion - now Austrian golf pro) attended the opening event.

The clubhouse was renovated in 2009: a winter garden was added, new checkrooms and a parking garage for golf carts were built. The driving range was relocated and enlarged and is currently undergoing further renovation.

The Hainburg golf course can be played almost all year round and the varied landscape delights both golfers and nature lovers. Three holes are partly in the floodplain area. From the tee of the 7th hole you can see Bratislava and Thebes. Holes 10 to 18 are terraced and are located at the foot of the Braunsberg. The course offers a combination of two unique landscapes in Europe: the flora and fauna of the Danube floodplain forests and the dry grasslands of the Braunsberg.

With a view of the golf course, you can enjoy the excellent cuisine of the club restaurant. Beginners and advanced players will find individual coaching from the pros at the Andrew Malley golf school and personal advice in the well-stocked pro store.
