Surrounded by vineyards and loess terraces, the stage leads from the wine town of Rohrendorf back to the lively historical Krems – including spectacular views. The starting point of the route already exudes regional charm. The Austria-wide known Rohrendorfer Kellergasse and the Lenz Moser winery invite you to linger and enjoy here. Through wonderful vineyards, the route continues toward the destination, past regional sites such as Rohrendorfer Gebling or Sandgrube. Accompanied by a stunning view over the idyllic Danube valley, the city of Krems is soon reached. There, numerous Heurigers and vintners provide for your culinary well-being. For all explorers, there are also excursion destinations such as the Kremser art mile with the spectacular Lower Austria State Gallery.
Author’s recommendation
Worth seeing is Austria's longest cellar lane, the Rohrendorfer Kellergasse with 72 press houses and cellar tunnels. Which Heuriger is open when and for how long can be found in our online Heuriger calendar! All dates are also conveniently available for printing.
A walk through the old town of Krems: charming alleys, fascinating house facades, and plenty of life!
