Alexander comes from the ancient Greek name Alexandros and means "the defender, the protector". Wirtshaus Alexander in Gallbrunn is aware of the significance of the name - and remains true to it. The traditional inn in the Danube region sees itself as a guardian of enjoyment and a pioneer of classic tavern cuisine. Since Alexander Muhr has been carrying on the tradition in the third generation, the culinary horizon has broadened for guests. International influences complement the local cuisine perfectly. The pink roasted saddle of rabbit in walnut butter with homemade cream cheese and mushroom ravioli is a modern style of cooking. Small Italian and Asian influences are also well represented on the menu. However, the connection to the homeland is undisputed.

The weekly specials, especially the burger evenings with tender beef from the region, are very popular. The in-house patisserie is open to experimentation. The wine list is more grounded. The oenological focus is on Carnuntum. An exquisite selection from the Danube region awaits guests. The fine wines can be enjoyed in the pub garden. A generous vine provides shade for the entire courtyard - a magnificent specimen. The ballroom is the preferred choice for weddings and family celebrations.
