The lived hospitality. An idyllic location. Game from our own hunt. Plus an exquisite selection of regional wines. The advantages of Hannes Windhör's inn in Gemeinlebarn are well known. Not only among the loyal regulars. The menu at Gasthof zum Jägerwirt is creative and regional at the same time. Nomen est omen. Game dishes have a long tradition here. The sika game comes from the local Danube region and is hunted, processed and prepared in-house. Et voilà: The venison leg on a wild mushroom sauce with crunchy vegetables and croquettes is delicious. Roasted juicy pink. Just as it should be. The oven-braised venison stew with napkin dumplings and cranberries bears no comparison. Since Hannes Windhör took over his parents' inn in 2008, a (wild) line has been consistently pursued.

Hearty enjoyment in the Traisental

In addition to the classic inn cuisine with a focus on game, it is the unique location in the green Traisental valley that keeps guests coming back. The ambience is harmonious. The wine list features many sparkling white wines from up-and-coming winegrowers in the region. Or would you prefer a light, fruity wine with a soft finish? The right red wine is quickly found. Served with a strong pinch of hospitality from the Windhör family. Friendly guest rooms flooded with light tempt you to stay longer in the region, which has a lot to offer with Göttweig Abbey, the Korkenzieher theme trail and the prehistoric museum.
