Hanauer Hof

The winery is located in Ruppersthal, in the heart of the Wagram region, and was mentioned in documents as early as the 17th century under Joseph Hanauer. The Strell family has been running the estate as a family business for almost a century.

Christoph Strell is the youngest descendant to take on the continuation of the Hanauer Hof. As a young, dynamic winegrower, he focuses on quality and organic cultivation.

Old, traditional craftsmanship and modern, innovative cellar technology go hand in hand; a few aids are used to give the wines authenticity. The terroir of the top vineyards, Mordthal and Steinberg, takes center stage. This small winery produces great wines with exceptional character and ageing potential.

The company is currently in the process of converting to organic farming. It goes without saying that the Strell family does not use herbicides in the vineyard or fining agents of animal origin in the cellar. Honesty and sustainability have always been a top priority at Hanauer Hof.
