Vom Bahnhof Furth-Palt geht es ein kurzes Stück durch die Weingärten um beim Zellergraben auf den Welterbesteig, Etappe 13, zu stoßen.
Welterbesteig Wachau: Access from Furth-Palt railway station to Stage 13
From the railway station, the route first turns right and then left into Bahnhofstraße. After crossing the main road near the Schönkreuz, the path continues straight ahead before turning left at the next opportunity. Via the Katzengraben, the trail reaches the Zellergraben, where it joins the Wachau World Heritage Trail. At this point, the route leads right onto Stage 13 towards Mautern, and left towards Furth and on to Unterbergern.
Thanks to good rail connections, travelling to the Wachau in a relaxed and sustainable way is easy. Within the region, a dense public transport network ensures that all stages can be conveniently reached by bus, train, ferries and boats, making it simple to combine different stages.
The Wachau World Heritage Trail is also awarded the Austrian Hiking Quality Seal. This certification stands for high standards in route layout, waymarking, safety and infrastructure, confirming the trail as a reliable and high-quality hiking experience at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site.
