    The stage starts at the fire brigade in Krummnussbaum and leads through the village and further to Krummnussbaum – Holzern. At Maria Steinbründl the path runs over the Eichberg to Sarling. Then along the Danube to the main square in Ybbs. Afterwards, it passes the Ybbs-Persenbeug visitor power plant, crosses the Danube bridge, and continues to Persenbeug to the Danube shore.

    In the forest area near Krummnussbaum, you will pass the Maria Steinbründl pilgrimage chapel. The Danube shores in Persenbeug and Ybbs invite you to linger. The bathing lake in Persenbeug-Gottsdorf offers a refreshing cool-down on hot summer days.

    Event tips:
    Every first Saturday in October, the Nut Festival takes place in Krummnussbaum. The village transforms into a colorful festival place with many delicious and fun offers all about the nut. At the Ybbsiade - the largest cabaret and small arts festival in the German-speaking area - well-known cabaret artists perform annually in April for two weeks.     Public transport

    You can travel with ÖBB to the Pöchlarn or Krummnussbaum train station - timetable query. From Pöchlarn station, you can take the bus to Krummnussbaum - timetable information.

    We recommend arriving by car as public transport does not cover a continuous connection.

    Directions

    Krummnussbaum is accessible via the A1 West motorway, exit Pöchlarn. At the exit, take the 2nd exit in the roundabout towards Pöchlarn. Through the village, after the fire brigade (about 100-150 meters), turn right towards Krummnussbaum.

    Coming from Krems or Grein via the Wachau road (B3), cross the Danube bridge at Klein Pöchlarn. In the roundabout after the bridge, take the first exit towards Pöchlarn. Through the village, after the fire brigade (about 100-150 meters), turn right towards Krummnussbaum.

    Parking

    Parking is possible in the center of Krummnussbaum or at the Danube shore in Persenbeug.
