The Leopold Figl Warte, named after the Federal Chancellor and State Treaty Chancellor Leopold Figl, is enthroned on the Tulbingerkogel, which at 494 meters is the highest elevation in the district of Tulln.
The lookout point was built in 1967 and offers a breathtaking view as far as the Alps and the Danube.
Originally there was a wooden lookout post on this site, but it was cut down by the German Wehrmacht during the Second World War.
Today's concrete lookout tower was designed by renowned architect Prof. Clemens Holzmeister and still attracts numerous hikers and walkers today.
The lookout can be reached from the Berghotel Tulbingerkogel in around 10 minutes on foot.
A visit to the Leopold Figl Warte is ideal for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the Austrian landscape in all its glory.
