Absdorf is a liveable market town in the district of Tulln in Lower Austria and is centrally located in the Tullnerfeld, close to the southern edge of the Wagram. The municipality is surrounded by fertile fields, vineyards and typical loess landscape and is characterized by its good accessibility, its active village community and its natural location.

With an area of around 15 km² and an altitude of around 177 m, Absdorf is part of a traditional agricultural and wine-growing region. Viticulture plays an important role in local life - numerous winegrowers produce wines full of character here, especially Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and Burgundy varieties. The typical regional cellar lane in the “Absberger Riede” invites you to discover and linger.

The first documented mention of Absdorf dates back to the 9th century. The baroque parish church of St. Mauritius, originally from the Middle Ages, is a striking landmark of the village. Today, Absdorf presents itself as a modern, family-friendly community with modern infrastructure, local amenities, educational facilities and a lively club life.

Absdorf is ideally located for excursionists and cyclists: the village is part of the Wagram cycle path and offers connections to hiking trails, wine routes and the Danube cycle path network. Nature and culture lovers will find numerous excursion destinations in the surrounding area - from the wine terraces of the Wagram to the gardens of Tulln.

A major advantage of the municipality is the direct connection to the Franz-Josefs-Bahn. The Absdorf-Hippersdorf train station is a regional transportation hub with connections to Vienna, Krems and Tulln. The Stockerau expressway (S5) is also just a few minutes away.
