The Hoch family tree can be traced back to the year 640. The labels show the original coat of arms with rudder, grappling hook and anchor, as the Hochs were master mariners and thus controlled traffic on the Danube for more than 300 years. The Danube and nature were always determining factors for the family and their professions as master mariners and winegrowers. Today, the Hochs use their centuries of experience and knowledge of the region to produce vibrant wines full of finesse.
In 1990, Harald Hoch and his wife Andrea took over responsibility for the winery in the twelfth generation. Their son Christoph and daughter Daniela also work at the family winery. Christoph has also been making his own wines as a separate Christoph Hoch winery since 2012. They all aim to express the uniqueness of Hollenburg in their wines, with a particular focus on the "Hollenburg Conglomerate" geological formation.
