Weingut F.X. Pichler

The winery of Franz Xaver Pichler, or "F.X." for short, in Oberloiben has been one of the fixed stars in the Austrian wine firmament for decades and is known for its great dry white wines. It is now in its fifth generation and is run by son Lucas and his wife Johanna. The winegrowing family's declared aim has always been to produce wines that are a true reflection of the year, the soil and the special microclimate of the Wachau.

In addition to a great passion for wine, the basis for this are the best steep terrace sites from the most famous locations in Loiben and Dürnstein, which extend from the Steinertal in the east to the Loibenberg, the Kellerberg and the Liebenberg in the west. But it is not only the Pichler family's wines that are exceptional and of the highest quality. The modern cellar building in the middle of the vineyards between Dürnstein and Loiben, built in 2009, is also unique and worth seeing for every wine lover.
