The Mayer family from Krems produces "veltsamen" vinegar.
Krems and the surrounding area used to be a stronghold of vinegar production. However, while the quality of the raw material for vinegar production, wine, steadily increased, there was hardly any quality awareness with regard to vinegar, which made vinegar production in this area unprofitable. For a few years now, however, there has once again been a vinegar producer in Krems, but one that is fully committed to quality and organic cultivation.
The Mayer and Mayer families have created "VELTSAM", an organic balsamic vinegar made from Veltliner grapes, which even won overall victory at the "Alpe Adria Mostbarkeiten" tasting in 2015.
The secret of the recipe lies in its simplicity: just grapes, nothing else, and Grüne Veltliner from Lower Austria. Approximately five liters of grape must are required to produce one liter of vinegar. VELTSAM therefore contains the concentrated power of the grape with all the ingredients that have a positive effect on health and well-being.
Our vinegars are pure natural products, without any additives.
