The Salon Krenek in Krems is the window to the outside world for the multi-layered and extensive artistic legacy of the composer Ernst Krenek. The old walls of the Minorites in Krems are home to the Ernst Krenek Salon, an interdisciplinary, multimedia and open meeting place for music.
A decade and a half after his death, the estate and the intellectual and artistic legacy of this Austrian artist have found an appropriate home at the Ernst Krenek Institute in Krems. In addition to his musical works, Krenek left behind more than a dozen books and many writings and lectures not only on music, but also on literature and the visual arts, on language and painting and on artistry from antiquity to the present day.
