The Maria Trost pilgrimage church, located in the Lower Austrian district of Tulln, is a worthwhile excursion destination for pilgrims, believers and visitors interested in culture. The church, which is over 200 years old and was originally dedicated to St. Stephen, has been enthroned on the natural fortification of the Kirchberg since 1147. Over the centuries, it has undergone both Gothic extensions and extensive Baroque renovations. Today, the pilgrimage church of Maria Trost invites visitors to a spiritual exploration.

The historical sights and valuable details are numerous, including the high altar with a painting by Carlo Carlone, the pilgrimage statue of Mother Mary, several other altars rich in imagery, the magnificent pulpit and the impressive organ choir. The baroque organ by Ignaz Gatto is one of the most outstanding baroque organs in the Weinviertel region. The two statues of saints at the northern entrance, St. Leopold and St. Charles Borromeo, each carved from a single piece of lime wood, are also particularly worth seeing. The parish and deanery events of Maria Trost go hand in hand with pilgrimages to the original chapel, which was built in 1835 as a reminder of the origin of the pilgrimage.
