Franz Groiss' 50 vineyards are nestled around the idyllic village of Ruppersthal, where mainly Grüne Veltliner and Zweigelt of the highest quality are grown on a total of 18 hectares. 80% of the vineyards are located on south-facing slopes, all on loess soil. Other varieties: Pinot Blanc, Traminer, Scheurebe, Frühroter Veltliner, Roter Veltliner, Sauvignion Blanc, Gelber Muskateller, Chardonnay, Riesling.
Viticulture and agriculture have been practiced for 4 generations, and since 2001 Franz Groiss has invested intensively in quality viticulture. In 2007, the business was expanded into a wine tavern. Franz Groiss combines the old family knowledge with his own philosophy: back to nature, supporting the balance of flora and fauna to the best of his ability, constantly improving the vines to create the unique taste of Groiss wines. In a deep connection with nature, the Groiss winery produces wines that carry the unique taste of the terroir - pure, honest, unadulterated.
