  • Weingut Gerhold

The Gerhold winery in Gösing am Wagram, whose history dates back to 1750, is the oldest family-owned estate in the village. Today, the estate extends over 11.5 hectares of vineyards in the best locations around Gösing. Particularly worth seeing are the old loess cellars and loess corridors that connect the house cellar with the former press house. The winery is known for its indigenous varieties such as Roter Veltliner, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Grüner Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc and Zweigelt, which find ideal growing conditions under the prevailing climatic conditions. A specialty is Syrah, which is used for the barrique-aged Cuveé “CHERUB”.

The gentle slopes of the Wagram, with their unique loess soils and southern exposure, offer ideal conditions for viticulture. The loess soil is naturally well aerated and warms up easily, resulting in a clearly defined, recognizable wine type. The wines from the loess are characterized by a peppery spiciness and exotic fruit. A visit to the Gerhold winery offers an unforgettable wine experience and the opportunity to discover the diversity and quality of the wines.
