Since 1986, Erich and Brigitte Polz have been running the typical "Wachau" family winery in Rührsdorf near Rossatz on the right bank of the Danube, which was founded in 1893. On a vineyard area of 12 hectares, they mainly cultivate the typical regional varieties Grüne Veltliner and Riesling, as well as some Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat and Pinot Blanc. The winery belongs to the Vinea Wachau winegrowers' association, which is known for its strict quality codex. At Polz, attention is paid to natural cultivation of the vineyards and gentle winemaking in the cellar. The cozy Heurigen restaurant has room for 100 guests, but the garden is even nicer, where you can enjoy classic Heurigen fare and the estate's own wines in the shade of the fruit trees. For those who want to stay at the winery, there are 4 spacious, modern and invitingly furnished apartments with lots of wood.
