  • Petronell-Carnuntum National Park Institute

The National Park Institute, the site of the Natural History Museum in Petronell-Carnuntum, is an "eco-house": equipped with solar panels, a natural sewage treatment plant, a biotope and a herb garden, it offers the opportunity to carry out activities related to the National Park in the Danube wetlands all year round - both indoors and outdoors. Seminar rooms with appropriate technology invite visitors to explore and discover in the truest sense of the word.

Boat trips and excursions not only impart in-depth knowledge, but also allow participants to experience nature with all their senses. For example, while "ponding", when they are "armed" with nets to collect insect larvae, water fleas and many other creatures. In the subsequent workshop, everyone can examine their catch under a microscope and then release it back into the park's own wetland biotope.

The range of activities offered by the National Park Institute includes boat excursions and hikes, lectures and workshops, multi-day educational project weeks for groups of all ages and seasonal special programs - as well as company outings and incentive tours for special occasions. The program is aimed specifically at a wide variety of target groups, such as young people, school classes, families and adults, students and teachers, companies and institutions.
