The Mehofer - Neudeggerhof organic winery is a place that has been farmed by the Mehofer family for over 300 years. Situated on the Wagram, the deep loess soils are the valuable foundation for the vines, especially the Grüner and Roter Veltliner, which are among the estate's favorites.
The range is complemented by Riesling, Chardonnay, Gemischter Satz and some red grape varieties and has been completely organic for 25 years. Under the management of Stephan Mehofer, who is the 10th generation to run the winery, a sustainable lifestyle has been firmly integrated into everyday life. This can be seen in the establishment of bees, the use of PIWI varieties, building with renewable resources, wood chips from the estate's own forest, its own water supply and the bottling of wines in lightweight glass bottles. These aspects are part of a philosophy that is referred to here as 'natural'.
The winery also offers guest rooms for visitors who want to enjoy the peace and quiet, nature and, of course, organic wine. A stay at the Neudeggerhof is a unique opportunity to experience life on a winery up close and discover the beauty of the Wagram region.
