Oskar Mann Heimatmuseum

The Oskar Mann Museum of Local History on the main square in Absdorf is located in the former primary school directly opposite the parish church. The history of the village is brought to life in six showrooms on four levels - from prehistory and early history to the connection with Niederaltaich Monastery, the church, crafts, agriculture and the railway. A folklore collection with over 2,000 exhibits shows tools, implements and everyday objects from past centuries. A small wine shop with regional wines rounds off the experience.

Opening hours:
The museum will be closed for renovation work until September 2025.
From September, it will be open on the 1st Sunday of every month from 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm.

Admission is free, donations are welcome. Ideal for families, school classes and anyone who wants to experience regional history up close.
