A nature park in the middle of the forest for young and old: forest bathing, climbing, wooden musical instruments and much more...!
Mag.pharm. Josef Mayr lived from 1877 to 1927 and owned the pharmacy in Sieghartskirchen for more than 34 years. He enjoyed a great reputation, was chairman of various associations and an honorary citizen of the market town of Sieghartskirchen. The beautification association named a rest area in honor of Mag.pharm. Josef Meyr, the beautification association named a rest area with a beautiful view on the Kuhberg "Josef Mayr Park". Today, the park is known in the market town as Josefspark. As the Josefspark was overgrown for a long time, the park could not be used as a local recreation area for walks up the Kuhberg. In the fall of 2020, the employees of the Sieghartskirchen municipal building yard removed the overgrowth from the park.
In order to recall this historic and beautiful place in the middle of nature, the market town then launched a public participation process as part of an ideas competition and invited citizens to help design the park.
Numerous creative ideas were submitted and in the end, the idea of a nature education park in the forest won in front of the responsible committee.
Josefspark is a nature park in the middle of the forest for young and old!
Only sustainable elements made of wood were used to inspire both the youngest and the oldest citizens to spend time in the forest.
For the little ones, for example, there is a forest memory, balancing logs, a tree telephone, a wooden Dendorophone, forest quiz boards and a large wooden swing for everyone to "bathe in the forest".
