This winery is old, its vineyards probably even older. The Gritsch family continues a work that was started generations ago. One feels committed to this tradition, but experiments are carried out where it makes sense and modernizes where qualitative progress is hoped. Preserving what is valuable and creating something new" is the promising leitmotif. The Spitzer Graben with its centuries-old stone terraces, the cool winds and cold nights naturally shapes the character of the wines. The careful balance between man, soil and vine, together with the necessary patience and time, creates unmistakable, crystal-clear, healthy and wholesome wines. These can be tasted not only in the winery, but also in the family-owned Heurigen Donauschlössel in Spitz.
Since 2018, the Gritsch family has also run a cosy guesthouse with 11 rooms and an inviting wine tavern with panoramic terrace and fine delicacies with the best basic products from the region. Open: from the beginning of May to the beginning of October.
