You could say a “trident of bliss” has emerged from the historic building of the Hofmeisterei after careful renovation: an early Gothic jewel with Baroque opulence and more than 700 years of history. One. Two tenants who have already proven they know how to serve sophisticated country inn cuisine. Two. And a family of owners who have been making legendary wines in one of Austria’s most beautiful cultural landscapes for 5 generations. Three. With these ingredients, Hofmeisterei Hirtzberger looks set to become a new culinary landmark in the Wachau. But it is also an informal place to meet, where you can chat standing at the bar with a glass of wine. The culinary delights are provided by the new tenants – Hartmuth Rameder as front-of-house (most recently “Steirereck” and “Nigl”) and Erwin Windhaber as chef (most recently “Kloster Und” and “Nigl”). They serve a natural, regional cuisine in fine country inn style. The seasonal dishes are perfectly complemented by an extensive wine list, not only Hirtzberger with some 100 offerings including the flagships of the Wachau but also interesting wines from international cellars.

Additional offers: The upper floor captivates with its Baroque atmosphere and a sweeping view of the course of the Danube. Here, you will find the tasting rooms of the master vintner. The rooms also provide an atmospheric setting for weddings, birthdays, seminars or company celebrations. Three rooms are available on the upper floor. The foyer is the central space for the buffet, bar and/or dance floor. Individual rooms or the entire upper floor can be rented. We would be happy to fill you in on the details in a personal conversation.

All Greisslerei products are produced by us with love and care. The raw materials for these are picked by ourselves or come from suppliers we have carefully selected. Serving suggestion: slowly, with pleasure and the enjoyment of your best friends.
The following products are available: a variety of jams, chutneys and nuts, liver pate, pickled chanterelles, elder syrup, wild boar sausage and deer liver cheese.
