This relaxed 39-kilometre discovery tour takes leisure cyclists past three of the most beautiful Wagram castles: Thürnthal Castle, Grafenegg Castle and Seebarn Castle. Description

The tour leads west from Kirchberg and follows the course of the Wagramkante. Through Engelmannsbrunn, the route heads towards Thürnthal with its baroque-classical castle. At Thürnthal, the route crosses the striking terrain twice, combined with short climbs and descents. The rest of the route to Fels is characterized by the beautiful view over the Danube plain, which is on the left - on the right you can see the typical Wagram vineyards on the slopes. In Fels, sporty cyclists have the opportunity to take a detour to the Felser Warte - combined with a steep ascent and descent through two of Fels' numerous wine cellar lanes. Those who prefer a more leisurely ride can follow the signs to Feuersbrunn and Wagram am Wagram. Following a beautiful avenue, we cycle to the famous Grafenegg Castle, one of the most important castle buildings in the style of romantic historicism in Austria. We continue along the castle wall to Grafenwörth. Here in the flat Danube plain, cycling between meadows and fields is easy. In Grafenwörth, you have the opportunity to take a detour to the beautiful meadows overlooking the Danube. The tour leads past the birthplace of Kremser Schmidt in Grafenwörth and Seebarn Castle. We cross the small villages of Sachsendorf and Kollersdorf and reach Altenwörth, which is idyllically situated on an arm of the Danube at the edge of the floodplain forest. Here we recommend a detour across the oxbow lake to the Danube and the Altenwörth Danube power station. Well rested and refreshed, you return to Kirchberg.
