The wine-growing area of the market town of Furth covers about 290 ha with the vineyards Gottschelle, Oberfeld, Hintere Point, Höhlgraben and many more. The climate of the Dunkelsteinerwald and the Danube produce excellent Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Muscat and Riesling. But also great red wines. www.furth.at

    Roadbook

The starting point is Palt station, where there are parking facilities and public transport access is also available. The path leads west to the wayside shrine "Schönkreuz." From there, through the Neuberg wine cellar lane along the wine cellars. At the end of the lane, turn left – about 1.5 km gently uphill to the Kastanie viewpoint, where a magnificent panoramic view over the vineyards, Wachau, and Göttweig can be enjoyed. Continue through the natural monument Zellergraben to the rest area in the middle of Zellergraben. Then turn right heading south over Gottschelle, where it joins Kellergraben. Then keep left to stay on Kellergraben and pass by the Furth Wine Museum.

Continue downhill to the Fladnitz, then keep left again to pass the secondary school and public restrooms. At the bridge near Adeg, switch to the right bank of the Fladnitz River to Palt.

In Palt, several taverns invite you to enjoy a culinary treat in a cozy atmosphere: Winzerhof Hackner, Winzerhof Rosenberger, Weingut Zederbauer, Weingut Müller-Großmann, Winegrowing Senftlechner. You can find opening times on the websites of the establishments.

At "Furth" you cross the Fladnitz and pass historic vintner's farms via Kühlhausgasse back to the station.

This is a circular route where you can join at any time and walk in both directions. Naturally, everything is stroller-friendly and on public, paved paths.
