Saint Margaret’s Church is always worth a visit, summer or winter!

The Fels Parish Church is dedicated to Saint Margaret and situated on a rise above the surrounding streets. It is improbable that the town Fels (rock) was named after this rise.

The new church was consecrated on July 25, 1965, after the old one fell into a state of disrepair and had to be torn down. The highlights in the interior include paintings by Johann Martin Schmidt, aka Kremser Schmidt, namely the Glory of Saint Margaret as the main altar painting, the Holy Trinity in the oval reredos, as well as Saint Peter, Saint Wendelin and Saint Johannes of Nepomuk and the wonderful painting of the Mother of God in the side altar on the right side of the church.
