No one is born a pro, so waterskiing beginners start very slowly, first holding onto a pole next to the boat. Once you feel a little more confident on the skis, it’s time to move on to the rope. The pros from the Tulln Water Ski Club are on hand with tips and tricks to help you glide gracefully across the Danube in no time. After a few practice runs, you can try your hand at the monoski or even a wakeboard—and after a few more practice runs, there are still plenty of new goals to achieve: slalom courses, trick skiing, surfing, and much more await!
From early July through late August (summer vacation), the water ski club is open daily starting at 3 p.m. at the Donaulände, weather permitting. Please be sure to call in advance to make a quick appointment to ensure a boat operator is available. The season generally begins at Easter and runs through the end of September. The spacious grounds with a view of the Danube offer a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere right on the Danube embankment. Enjoying the picturesque sunsets is especially recommended.

The trip takes about 20–40 minutes on the S40 or the Regional Express (REX) from Vienna’s Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof and about 70 minutes from St. Pölten. You can find the current schedule here:
