The mill, originally called "Mühle in dem grunde derhalben des Wazzers", later "Mühle am Nidern Grund", then "Rothe Mühle" or "Rothmühle", was already located on a site in the village of Rannersdorf, which until 1848 belonged to the landlord of the church of St. Gilgen. Today, Rohtmühle Castle is a bed and breakfast and is available for weddings and conferences.
