The lineup of cultural events here draws thousands of visitors and Grafenegg Advent has also become an institution. Building on these traditions, one of Austria’s probably most ambitious current cultural projects is being carried out on the premises of Grafenegg Castle.

An open-air stage and the new concert hall, the Auditorium, are the prerequisite facilities for establishing Grafenegg internationally as a unique cultural venue. The highlight of the annual program of events is the Grafenegg Festival under the artistic direction of Rudolf Buchbinder. The Tonkünstler-Orchester Niederösterreich plays a central part in the festival along with first-class international guest orchestras. In addition, the Tonkünstler take up residence in Grafenegg every year for the summer months of July and August and perform a concert every week. The international Grafenegg Festival is the crowning finale of a lively musical summer season.

Enjoyment for All the Senses
But Grafenegg is about more than just music. The total concept is unique, promising enjoyment at every turn. The excellent wine and other culinary specialties of the region bring a smile to the face of the audience members, as does the first-class cultural program. It is easy to leave everyday cares behind in this incomparable atmosphere. The interplay of culinary delights and historical castle, landscaped park and modern architecture creates a symphony of the senses.
